When I was young, my dad sometimes warned me about the trouble that comes with ill-gotten gain. I spent years believing that the advice was something that poor people say to feel better about being poor, but lately I have begun to believe the old man may have had a point.

A business acquaintance named Joseph “Fingers” D’Amato has been coming by my place lately, looking to collect a share of some of my recent ill-gotten gains, and I won’t be able to avoid him for too much longer.
