Fred steps outside and discovers to his surprise that he misses the odious smell of the dogfood plant that used to operate a mile upwind from his home. He had always hated that place, its smell, and how much it hurt his property value, so when it closed a couple months ago he considered it a personal victory.
Today, though, as he impassively watches the new family – existing – across the street, he thinks that he would gladly trade the fresh air for the return of the old neighbors who left town after the plant closure.

Be careful what you wish for I guess…
That seems to be a theme of mine lately! I guess if one’s mind is bent toward the negative, then getting what one wants usually leads to new (and often worse) negatives.
Life is definitely complicated and when we get what we think we desire, the outcome can be much worse.
