I am fascinated by PSAs. Do they change anything? Is someone watching TV at home thinking, “you know, I never thought of it that way,” just a moment before he or she jumps into action planting a tree, flushing drugs down the toilet, preventing a forest fire, sitting down a sugary snack and replacing it with a healthy one, etc.
Well, the answer as to whether they change anything is undoubtedly yes. We all know that America famously ended its drug abuse problems with a series of PSAs in the late 1980s.
I think of the one below, frequently, as I make breakfast.
I feel really lucky to have grown up in the time when the drug problem was solved forever.
You have no idea.. The “Just Say Yes” campaign in the 1970s created something of a drug-fueled dystopia.
