+ The seat of British government, the palace is a 19th century Gothic Revival construction, built on the site of an 11th century royal palace and parliament building which had been destroyed by a fire. The newer building is now one of the most recognizable buildings in the world.

Sainte-Chapelle (Paris, France)

+ Built by Saint King Louis IX, this royal chapel was built to house the Crown of Thorns. The relic eventually relocated to Notre Dame, nearby, but the gothic chapel, with unbelievable art and stained glass remains one of the world’s most beautiful places.
