Very interesting metaphor especially considering candle flames are very delicate
Yeah! I have always liked that metaphor. I was actually reminded of it, though, at a birthday celebration. It always seemed a little odd to me that we (in the U.S. at least) blow out candles on a cake to celebrate a young person’s birthday. I’ve always wondered about the meaning or significance of that ritual.
