Dusty Poetry #32

Just give me* some time and I'll get you some copy! (*For the record, this is not actually a monkey; it's a chimpanzee. It's the best we could do, under the circumstances.)

Hi, welcome to the DustyWrites subsection of DustyReviews.com. If you like what you read and you would like to read more, the repository of my creative offerings is HERE.

Moments Never Coming

I did not stop to eat breakfast
I did not make time for a stroll
I did not stop to share my heart
Though I knew loneliness exacts a toll

I waited for moments never coming
Though I told myself that they would
I lied that life would linger with me
Though I never thought much about why it should

I see now what has transpired
My patience and movements wrongly placed
I ran ahead when I should have lingered
I waited for life when I should have raced
